T4 (thyroxine) test: This test measures the amount of the thyroid hormone T4 in the blood. T4 is produced by the thyroid gland and helps regulate metabolism. High levels of T4 can indicate an overactive thyroid, while low levels can indicate an underactive thyroid.

T3 (triiodothyronine) test: This test measures the amount of the thyroid hormone T3 in the blood. T3 is also produced by the thyroid gland and helps regulate metabolism. High levels of T3 can indicate an overactive thyroid, while low levels can indicate an underactive thyroid.

Thyroid Antibodies test: This test measures the levels of antibodies that are produced when the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland. High levels of these antibodies can indicate an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which causes the thyroid gland to become underactive.

 


 

It is important to note that the results of a thyroid function test should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical information and not in isolation. Additionally, any abnormal result should be confirmed by repeat testing and clinical evaluation.
